It is not just Sydneysiders who are feeling the impact
of the APEC conference in the harbour city this week.
A Victorian flower grower says his business has ground
to a halt because the conference has reduced demand from
wholesalers at the Sydney Flower Market.
James Frew, from Longford in Gippsland, says his business
is down 95 per cent this week because of lost orders.
"They said well the markets closed because of the APEC
meeting on Friday and we're going to go a whole week without
supplying our major market," he said.
"It's a major disruption,
like you can't pick the flowers next week because they've
got a certain amount of orders so it's not as if you
can keep them in storage and sell them on a rainy day.
