THE most awarded restaurant in the history of the Macarthur
Chronicle business awards clinched another gong last week,
confirming its reputation as the district's leading eatery.
Camden's Enzo Italian Restaurant took out the formal dining
category at the gala Macarthur Chronicle truelocal Business
Awards presentation on Wednesday night at Campbelltown
RSL Club.
The win follows the restaurant taking out the Business
of the Year title in 2000 as well as winning the restaurant
category more than half a dozen times.
The business also won the best Italian restaurant in the
NSW Catering Association Awards (south coast) earlier this
year.
Restaurant co-owner Thierry Marillier thanked his customers
for recognising Enzo when he accepted the trophy in a packed
auditorium at the RSL club.
He found a quiet spot
away from the 500-strong crowd immediately after the
award presentation and called his staff at the restaurant
to let them know the good news. "We try and
create a friendly work environment and I think our customers
appreciate that," he said.
"I show my staff it's
important to care about the restaurant and work for each
other."
Camden collected several other trophies at the business
awards.
Sinclair's Town News and Pharmacy in Camden won the pharmacy
category. Other winners were Narellan Licensed Post Office
(post office category), Coutts Conveyancing and Legal Services
(professional services) and Bunch It With Country Florist
(florist). The youngest winner Benjamin Deitz, 16, of Camden
Hotel, won apprentice of the year.
Campbelltown Catholic Club took out the prestigious Business
of the Year award.
