PORTLAND (NEWS
CENTER) -- Spring may still be a few weeks away, but the
smell of spring is already in the air on the Portland waterfront.
The annual Portland Flower Show got underway Thursday morning.
The show opened at 10:00 A.M. at the Portland Company Complex,
and runs until 5:00 P.M. on Sunday. The theme this year
is urban retreats, so the displays are meant to put a lot
of landscaping and hardscaping in a small backyard space.
There is something to satisfy all styles, from a very minimal
japanese garden, to a giant pergola, featuring an outdoor
living room with cushy seats and lots of color.
Tickets are $15 at the door, and kids under 12 can get in
for free. If you plan to go with a group of more than ten,
organizers say to call them at 775-4403 and you can get
discounted prices.
