Windsor police are investigating a collision
early Sunday morning that extensively damaged a flower shop
at the corner of Goyeau and Erie Streets.
Staff Sgt. Ed McNorton, communications officer for the WIndsor
Police Service, said Monday that officers were called to
the shop after 2:30 a.m. where they discovered a 1996 Pontiac
Grand Am had crashed into a building, causing extensive
damage to the shop and the car.
Officers learned the vehicle had been observed travelling
at a high rate of speed soutbound on Goyeau. The driver
attempted to make a left turn on to Erie Street but lost
control. A female driver and two passengers were witnessed
leaving he car and fleeing the scene, running east on Erie
Street.
