An elderly flower seller who
was a colourful character in Stokesley has died.
Over the years Richard Shore, or Dickie as he was known,
refused to budge from his unkempt roadside pitch despite
being plagued by attacks from thugs.
During a lifetime selling plants on the road between Great
Broughton and Stokesley he made many friends.
Tomorrow many of those friends, along with local residents
and police, will follow a horse-drawn hearse to the parish
church where a hunting horn will be sounded as a tribute
to the 86-year-old.
