THE annual
flower festival at Dersingham Methodist Church was due to
have started yesterday, marking its 118th anniversary.
The theme of this year's event, which will last until bank
holiday Monday is "The Best Book to read is the Bible"
with floral displays showing bible stories.
Stallholders will sell items such as cakes, cards, plants,
gifts and books.
There will also be coffee, lunch or tea and today at 10am
a chance to hear children singing.
The festival will be open every day from 10am to 5pm, except
Sunday when it will open from 2pm to 5pm.
Services on Sunday will be at 10.30am and 6.30pm (songs
of praise). They will be conducted by former minister of
the church the Rev Pam Bayliss.
Proceeds will be split between the church, in Post Office
Road, and its church project, New Futures orphanage, Cambodia. |
