MONTREAL/BUENOS AIRES, April
24: In an effort to boost its business in South America,
Distraction has entered into an alliance with The Latin
Flower Company, the new venture established by Silvana D’Angelo.
D’Angelo, a former Telefe and Dori Media executive,
launched the new company at MIPTV with a host of telenovelas,
secured from alliances with a range of different companies
in the region. The Latin Flower Company will work with Distraction
to roll out the Canadian company’s titles across Latin
America. The initiative begins at the L.A. Screenings, where
The Latin Flower Company will be showcasing a variety of
Distraction formats and ready-to-air titles.
Silvana D’Angelo, the president of The Latin Flower
Company, noted: “At The Latin Flower Company we are
committed to providing high-quality entertainment and a
dedicated service to our clients, and have found in Distraction,
not only an extensive proven catalogue of unique low-development-cost
formats and top-quality ready-to-air productions, but also
a prestigious company that shares our philosophy of a boutique
approach to customers, to provide fresh and original content
in all genres. We are confident that, in the same way Distraction’s
brand has achieved a privileged place in the most important
networks in North America, Western, Central and Eastern
Europe, it will soon conquer Latin America’s prime-time
slots.”
Michel Rodrigue, the CEO of Distraction, added: “I
am very confident that Silvana’s strong industry expertise
and her enthusiastic team will help significantly to carry
the Distraction brand and make waves in the Latin American
market.”
