DETROIT -- Organizers expected
about 150,000 people Sunday for the 42nd Annual Flower Day
at Eastern Market.
"Turn out is pretty good and the merchants seem pretty
happy, given that it's a brisk day," said Dan Carmody,
president of the Eastern Market Corp., the nonprofit group
that operates Eastern Market.
This year featured more than 150 vendors selling everything
from hanging baskets to tropical plants and flats to trees.
It's one of the largest flower shows in the nation.
Flower Day at Eastern Market, located on Russell Street
between Mack and Gratiot, is one of the largest flower shows
in the country, with hundreds of growers on more than 15-acres. |
