Two men posing as flower delivery men conned 80-year-old Carmen Vieves to open her door and let them in to her house. Once in her house, they tied her hands and feet, and pillaged the house, looking for $60,000 that she and her husband had stashed.
Nieves said her husband, Michael Rodriguez, 56, had planned on taking the cash to a bank to deposit. She said the two robbers told her the flowers were from her husband.
"I worked 47 years, and now I'm retired, and they took all my money," Rodriguez said. The police have released a picture from surveillance video, showing the two men. They estimate the men are between 20 and 30 years of age.
