SOUTHEND'S entry
to the Hampton Court Flower Show has been designed with
a long, hot summer in mind.
The council's water-wise garden has been created by horticultural
and landscape experts from across the borough including
the Chalkwell-based arts organisation, Metal. Council bosses
hope to top last year's silver award at the world's largest
flower show.
The project is supported by Essex and Suffolk Water and
the Arts Council England, East.
Paul Jenkinson, the council's parks technical officer said
the entry used drought-tolerant plants and he hoped to encourage
people to grow their own vegetables this summer. |
