RED BLUFF - The Red Bluff
Garden Club is holding its 47th Annual Flower Show next
Tuesday. Doors will open to the public between noon and
4 p.m. at 12889 Baker Road. The show is free.
Gardeners have developed flower shows as a place to share
their knowledge and exhibit their skills at growing an outstanding
horticultural specimen.
A flower show is a place for friendly competition and a
stage featuring fresh plant materials as the stars of the
cast.
There is something of interest for everyone at a flower
show. This includes cut flowers, flowering and non-flowering
branches, vines, herbs, grasses, interesting container-grown
plants and, of course, creative floral designs.
Crafty individuals might want to check out the Artistic
Crafts Division. Young people are encouraged to enter. Youth
between the ages of 7 and 18 may enter classes in horticulture,
container-grown plants or a design.
