The Central Highlands resort
city of Da Lat will be ablaze with colour when this year’s
eight-day Flower Festival kicks off next Saturday.
Opening with the theme, Da Lat Flowers, I Love You, the
biennial event exposes to the world the area’s diversity
of flowers, for which it is famed nationwide.
Eighteen cultural activities and music and dance performances,
as well as a massive group wedding, will be featured during
the festival, with more than 1,000 performers and an estimated
80,000 visitors, according to Truong Van Thu, vice chairman
of the People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province.
About 5,000 species of flowers from Da Lat and other localities
nationwide as well as other countries will be on display
throughout the city.
The opening ceremony and the festival’s main events
will be televised live on VTV1 channel.
