Step into spring.
It has been a long, cold, dreary winter. Are you ready for
flowering pink, red, purple and gold blossoms, a carpet
of green, a fortress of rustling, leafy trees - and everything
and everyone under the sun to make the garden of your dreams
possible?
Step into spring with the 12th annual U.S. Bank Boise Flower
& Garden Show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the
Centre on The Grove
"It's my baby, and I can't believe it's 12 years old,"
said Karen Siegle, the show's producer, who added that it
has come a long way from its humble beginnings. "It's
grown. I think the first year we had 90 booths."
There's something for just about everyone, with more than
150 booths and displays featuring scores of local outdoor
folks from nurseries, landscape professionals, deck and
cover companies and more, exotic orchids, container gardens,
bonsai wisdom, a food pavilion featuring Idaho food producers,
tree auction, seminars, workshops, wine and jazz for the
grown-ups and a garden craft for kids.
"We've got at least 20 new companies in the show this
year," Siegle said. "It's not the same old show,
there's always something new to see."
Be sure to wear your walking shoes and take something comfy
to sling over your arm to cart your loot home. Here are
