A FLORIST from Ashurst is
heading for the big time after winning a modelling competitionpetition.
Brooke
Kelly, 23, of Kestrel Park, was chosen out of hundreds
of entries to be the face of LillyCouture, a new shop which
opened three weeks ago in the Concourse.
She will now feature
on exclusive bag designs, posters, shop window backdrops
and in the Lilly Couture catalogue.
Five finalists were
then chosen and put to a vote with the winner being announced
at the shop’s launch party
at the swanky new Echelon bar in Ormskirk on Friday night.
The
entries were whittled down to 10 girls who all had their
pictures taken by Skelmersdale photographer Wes Simpson.
Brooke,
a former Up Holland High pupil, said: “I
was really nervous because all my friends and family were
there. I was surprised when my name was read out because
all the other girls are so pretty.
“Modelling is something I’ve
always wanted to pursue and this will give me a head
start.
“I saw the competition advertised and I just thought
I’d go for it. I’ve always wanted to do modelling
and I thought I may as well apply because it was right
on my doorstep.”
Ashley Ali, who owns
the shop which originally started out in Ormskirk’s
in-door market, said he is pleased to have Brooke on
board.
“This is a great
opportunity because she is going to be featured all over
the shop and in the media as the face of Lilly Couture.”
Ashley,
23, is selling his own clothes designs, as well as bags,
shoes and accessories.
“I started off
in menswear buying end-of-the-line stock and limited
edition items, selling them over the internet to fund
my way through university.
“I’ve
taken inspiration for my own designs from the catwalk
and gave them my own little touches and my friend is
manufacturing them for me in China.
“I’m delighted
that Brooke is now on board, the vote was unanimous.
The public love her.”
