| The Mayor of Manukau City
says there will be a flower show at the area's Botanic Gardens,
despite another decision to reject the venue.
In November, the Ellerslie International Flower Show announced
it was moving to Christchurch.
The Ellerslie International Flower Show began in Auckland
in 1994 and had been held at the Botanic Gardens in Manukau
since 1998.
A new Auckland Flower Show will be held at Alexandra Park.
Director Paul McLuckie says it's easier for thousands of
people to get there.
But Mayor Len Brown says the Manukau venue is a location
that suits visitors and exhibitors.
Mr Brown says his team will review the situation next month,
but he's confident the area can produce a show of international
quality.
