PLANS to improve Victoria
Park have been outlined in Southport’s new Investment
Strategy.
The document puts forward the idea of ‘upgrading’
the park, which hosts the resort’s annual Flower Show,
between now and 2011, so that it will have better facilities
for accommodating more major events.
The report also talks about improving the links between
the park and the town centre and seafront areas.
It says: “A priority is to improve the links between
Victoria Park and the seafront and town centre areas, upgrade
the park environment and provide additional infrastructure
to support existing activities and accommodate new activities.”
David Jackson, Southport Flower Show’s new chief executive
said that the ideas echo the thoughts of the board of trustees.
