A RECORD number of entries showed off their green-fingered skills when they took part in the 2008 Lymsptone Flower Show.

Flower show spokeswoman Shirley Wilkes said more than 400 people had visited this year's show. "The vegetable and flower exhibits were superb," she said. Full results are as follows:

For competitor scoring most points in Vegetable Section, Pauline Stewart.

For scoring most points in the Dahlia Classes, Suki Commin.

For the best exhibit in the Flower Arrangements Section, Mary Truell.

For scoring most points in the Flower Arrangements Section, Angela Coles and Mary Truell.

For competitor scoring most points in the Home Cooking Section, Sarah Jane Watts.

For competitor scoring most points in the Wine Section, Madge Greenfield.

For scoring most points in Junior Classes, Esme Hennessy.

For the best creative effort in Section 6 (Juniors), Esme Hennessy and Jack Coles.

PHILLIP SCOTT CUP for scoring most points in the Flower Section, Suki Commin.

W H TRUMP MEMORIAL CUP for the competitor who has not won a cup at the show previously, scoring most points in the Flower Section, Mark Edworthy.

BERT WILLIAMS CUP for the competitor with the best rose, Suki Commin

BERT HUTCHINGS CUP for competitor with the best Pot Plant, Kate Exelby.

EDDIE BONE MEMORIAL CUP for scoring most points in Classes 6.6 - 6.10 (Children 5 - 7 yrs), Jack Coles.

TROPHY for scoring most points in Classes 6.11 - 6.15 (Children 8 - 12 yrs), Imogen Handford.

ELLIS LOCKE CUP for scoring most points in Under 16s only classes, Kate Exelby.

COTTAGERS CUP for scoring most points in Handicraft Section, Cheryl Hodge.

CLEMENTS ROSE BOWL for the best front garden, Mrs R Pinn, Sunnybank, Underhill.

LEN HORSFORD CUP for the runner-up to the best front garden, Mr and Mrs D Kirby.

LYMPSTONE SOCIETY CUP for the best business premises, Julia Hansford, Shears Place Cafe.

WHITBREAD CUP for the best licensed premises: Mr and Mrs Borrie, Saddlers Arms.

LYMPSTONE PARISH COUNCIL CUP for the best flower basket/tubs, Mr and Mrs D Phillips, Limners, Strawberry Hill.

HEATHFIELD ALLOTMENTS CUP for the best allotment, Tom Pearson.

GREENFIELD TANKARD for an outstanding crop of any vegetable on an allotment, Mr P Grubb.

VI WARE MEMORIAL CUP for competitor entering most exhibits: Gillie Lister.

FRANK KITTLE MEMORIAL BOWL for competitor scoring most points in show, Suki Commin.
