THE hard winter frost has not stopped summer flowers outside a Chichester restaurant astonishingly surviving and blooming.
The Buttery in South Street has geraniums, begonias, lobelias and fuchsias still flowering in the baskets outside, when, by the laws of nature, they should have been killed off by the cold.
Manager Colin Harrison said: "They would have usually died off by now – they died off last winter.
"We water them once a day and they have had no special treatment and they are still flowering away in the hard frost."
