A Saginaw business owner is hoping for answers after thieves busted into her flower shop in broad daylight Monday morning.
It happened at Sarah and Cyhthia Flowers and Gifts on the 2700 Block of Perkins.
This is the third time this year it's happened. Detectives say they're strapped. The business owner says she's had enough.
Eva Comer's flower shop is in pieces and she can't figure out why.
"I really don't know," she said. "Maybe someone doesn't have jobs."
Comer says sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., someone busted through a window in broad daylight. Although Comer wasn't at the shop, she's now fearing for her life.
"I don't know when I could come in here in case they're in here," she said. "I don't have anything to fight them with."
She says this isn't the first time it's happened. It happened once on Mother's Day and again on Halloween. Monday marked three.
They've stolen merchandise, a generator and plenty of memories. It's cost her about $20,000 so far.
"I think I'm not the only one," she said. "I think it's a burglar ring going around."
Saginaw police won't go that far. But detectives say they are dealing with with 15 to 20 breaking-and-enterings a week. Burglaries also tend to spike during the holidays.
In addition, officers are so backed up, this case may not go anywhere, even though Comer says the thieves left behind traces of blood when they busted through the window.
For now, she has many questions and few answers. And she doesn't know whether she'll reopen.
"I had a good run," she said. "I had a real good run, and when stuff like this happens and I can't get the help that I want ... "
If you have any who idea who could be behind some of these break-ins, call Saginaw police.
