A FLOWER, craft and quilt show drew a
crowd to a village at the weekend.
The show, which was a one-off event, was held at All Saints
Church at Easton-on-the-Hill on Saturday and Sunday to commemorate
the life of villager Gill Steemson.
It featured displays of floral arrangements, craft items
and quilts, as well as a bring and buy stall, cushion and
bag raffle and refreshments.
Many of the displays were donated by groups Mrs Steemson
belonged to, including the Burghley Crafty Patchers, the
Lace Group and the Flower Club.
There was also a remembrance service for Mrs Steemson, who
died suddenly in March, to finish the event.
Kathleen Holwell, who runs the Burghley Crafty Patchers,
organised the day with Denise Lattimore. She was delighted
with how the event went.
She said: "It went very very well and everybody who
attended seemed to be very pleased with what they saw. It
was very well supported."
The event raised £625 from the bring and buy stall,
cushion and bag raffle, and the sale of refreshments.
The money, along with £115, which was raised from
a quiz at The Oak Inn, will be divided between the church,
the village hall and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
